The following is a checklist for those interested in applying to Christbridge Academy. There is a special application packet for international students. Please refer to the ELD page for more details.
- Schedule an appointment with an Administrator for an initial interview and campus tour. Please bring the most current three years of school records to this meeting along with anything else you think would help the school in knowing your child better. The initial interview is a time for parents and students to gain a sense of the CBA way of schooling and living and to ask questions. It is also a time for the school to begin getting to know you and your children.
- Obtain an Applications Packet, completely fill out the forms, and return them to the school.
- Schedule an appointment for an evaluation of the student’s math and language skill levels.
- A second interview after references have been contacted is scheduled to discuss the results of the initial evaluation. Recommendations are also given to ensure proper placement in our program. At this time, you will be informed of the decision regarding acceptance to the school unless further information is required.
- Upon acceptance, a non-refundable registration fee is due and arrangements are made for tuition payments, books, and general fees.
Admission Requirements
Passports and visas:
You will need a passport from your government and a visa from the United States Embassy/Consulate to enter the US. To apply for a visa, take your passport and a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20 A/B) issued along with proof of adequate financial support for your studies and living expenses to the nearest United States Embassy/Consulate.
I-20 Information:
Christbridge has been approved by the U. S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service to issue a Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status – For Academic and Language Students, known as the Form I-20, to qualified students. Our school code is LOS 214F 1557.00 approved on 9/30/93.
Finances:
Before a US Consul will grant a visa, you must prove that you have sufficient money to meet all your expenses while studying in the United States. You must explain the source of your funds and guarantee that you will receive them while at school. The Consul will not grant you a student visa unless you are able to provide written evidence demonstrating you have adequate financial resources for the entire time needed to complete your academic program.
Health Care and Insurance:
The acquisition of health insurance is a condition of registration for all nonimmigrant students (this must include the cost of repatriation and medical evacuation). You are also required to bring a medical history with you describing previous illnesses and/or surgery. Be sure to bring immunization records, including all those received in childhood. If you have ever had tuberculosis (or scars appearing on your chest X-rays) or other serious infectious diseases, be sure to have thorough medical studies made before coming and bring the reports of those studies with you.
Living Accommodations:
Most students live in private homes either with their own families or with a guardian and host family.
Medical Requirements:
Students are required to have a medical exam on file in the school office before they are allowed to attend CBA. Current immunizations or waivers and TB test results are also required. If a student will be participating in the Sports Program, he or she is required to have a special medical clearance filled out by a physician. Please contact the school office for further information.
