The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. They are the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Since 1949, they have invested more than $1.2 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches. They have pioneered groundbreaking research that leads them to believe that they will find the cures for cancer in our blood. Beating cancer is in their blood.
Each year, the CBA students participate in fundraising efforts so that many children afflicted by Leukemia might experience God’s love for them and his healing power. This year, the Fifth and Sixth grade collected over $1,000 selling chocolate covered pretzels at various locations. The Eleventh grade sold cards, candles, and handmade paper flowers and baskets. The Twelfth grade continued their fundraising efforts with a waffle, strawberry, and ice cream sale as well as a Vietnamese lunch sale. The other classes have conducted lunch sales and snack sales. The students, staff, and administration collected a total of $4800 in fundraising monies to support the fight to cure cancer.
